Snapshot Monday

I usually do Snapshot Monday on my blog, sharing pictures from my recent trip around the UK, but I thought I’d move things over here today.

First up, we have a “Hairy Coo” from Scotland. I almost wanted to brush it, its hair was so long and shiny!

Below we have the Smallest House in Great Britain. The red part? That’s the entire thing! And it’s really two floors. The last person to live there was a fisherman who had to move out when he grew over six feet tall.

And look, so pretty! A sculpture of Cinderella’s Carriage at the Waterford Crystal showroom.

Below are some Welsh Lovespoons – traditionally in Wales, when a man was courting a woman, he’d carve a spoon for her. Romance! Some of the spoons at this traditional workshop were incredibly detailed – if you look closely at the image, you can see a couple of 3D ones – one even had a tiny bird carved inside and I believe it was all created from one piece of wood. (If you follow the link, you can see more photos and read about the history of the lovespoons).

And some beautiful scenery to close – of the beach below the famous St. Andrews Links Course.

I hope you enjoyed the photos!

If I hadn’t seen the photo, I’d assume a Hairy Coo was a euphemism ;-)

I am glad that you didn’t brush the “Hairy Coo” with the very BIG horns..

*snicker* seriously, he moved out, AFTER he hit 6 ft……

Waterford+Cinderellas Carriage, WIN! How could you not love that, so pretty!

I want my guy to carve me a spoon.*G* They are fantastic, so detailed.

Hmm, St Andrews Golf Course, my guys dream and the place where one day, we will happily part ways(for a few days anyway!) while I explore as much of the history of Scotland as I can and he tackles the famous St Andrews, oh the art of compromise. LOL

Thanks Nalini, I loved the pics, great fun!

I think I’ve seen that hairy coo before, when I was in scotland. Is his name Hamish, prehaps? ^_^
The one I met wasn’t impressed at all by the noisy people standing around taking pictures of us, he had the most standoffish expression on his face, It was so funny. I think that they really are cute.

A very well-groomed heeland coo. I’ve seen them so shaggy they looked like red-haired yaks. I take it this was his summer coat?
Gorgeous beach pic! I want to go wading in the waves.

  5. Nalini, what’s the square footage of the house? If it’s not very wide, what’s the depth? Wow, it sure looks cramped…

  6. Can you even fit a kitchen and toilet in that small of a house?

  7. KNalla says:

I was just in Conwy Wales, and I saw that house! Unfortunately it was closed, but it was still great to see even from the outside.

Thank you Nalini! The Waterford Crystal showroom was AMAZING. And I just love the lovespoons. Carved from one piece of wood? WOW! You’d definitely know someone loved you if they spent their time carving such an intricate spoon. And I guess…gifting someone a spoon would allow you to eat, so double the gift :)

Love the pictures. Thanks for sharing. :)

The spoons are awesome, but I’m glad we don’t do that here. Hubby’s not a demonstrative guy. Our engagement amounted to him handing me the bag after we left the jewelry store and saying, “Here.” Don’t get me wrong, he’s a wonderful man and a great father, but I cringe to think of the spoon I would have received.
