Another Contest – win a Meljean Brook book

All right, kids, I enjoyed last week’s contest so much that I thought I’d do a repeat – but I’d shill another Odd Shots girl. This goes out to all the Meljean Brook fans (or the ones that haven’t tried Meljean’s stuff yet!). Because I am ridiculously excited for DEMON BLOOD in July, I am going through and re-reading some of Meljean’s backlist in my spare time.
(Well. I don’t have a lot of spare time, so it’s mostly re-reading favorite scenes and stuff.)
I have to admit, I have a serious girlcrush on Meljean’s writing. She writes the series I wish I could – dark but tinged with humor, sexy, strong, and SEXY ANGELS AND FRIGGIN SEXY VAMPIRES. Ahem. I am a big fan. And Meljean is my favorite redhead, and always has time for my weepy, frantic emails when I am convinced (for the jillionth time) that my current work-in-progress is somehow the worst book ever. She’s a good shoulder to cry on.
And…I thought since we’re trying out Odd Shots books, why not give away one of Meljean’s books? If you haven’t tried her stuff, now’s a great time to get on board.
I’m giving away a copy of either DEMON ANGEL (if you haven’t read the series) or DEMON FORGED (if you need to catch up on the series). You can read either one without reading the whole series, of course — you just get more out of it if you do. If you read a lot of UF, I do think you’ll enjoy Meljean’s stuff.
To win…here’s what you’ve got to do. You have to tell me what your Guardian power is. See, the ‘angels’ in Meljean’s series are called Guardians and they each have a power — think of X-men with wings. Each Guardian has a power that had something to do with their previous life. Irena was a slave in life, so as a Guardian, she can manipulate metal – so no chains can ever hold her again. Drifter was a cowboy that ended his mortal life in jail…and as a Guardian, he holds power over locks. He can unlock anything.
My Guardian power would be…the ability to create my own instant socks. I think this stems from both my laziness at doing laundry, and the fact that touching wet cotton makes me shudder (my skin is crawling just thinking about it). Not an epic Guardian power, but I would be popular on laundry day.

Since you’re generously “giving away” Guardian powers, I’d like to have the ability to soothe and calm people–whether they are in pain, anger, doubt, danger, fear, etc. Thanks for a fun contest.
My Guardian power would be to visualise my gym workouts in my head…. and reap with benefits without having to change out of my pjs and get my sorry butt out of my office chair. Yep. That would be freaking awesome!
My Guardian power would be to consume any food, spicy or sweet, without any repercussions (heart burn, weight gain, etc.). That’d be so fantastic!
I have terrible vision, so my Guardian power would be to have xray vision – to see through walls, etc.
My Guardian power would be to be able to change my physical appearance at will. I would love to be a tall, willowy blond on one day, and a feisty redhead the next.
Hmm…this has a lot of possibilities
As a Guardian, I imagine I would be a healer. Or be able to heal myself constantly. (Umm, lots and lots of health issues these days.)

My guardian powers would be to snap my fingers and make ANY character from a book come to life…angels, guardians, changelings, the whole lot of them
I guess my Guardian power would be to have super dirty breath in the morning to kill all my enemies…wait I think I already have that power. LOL
My guardian power would be very latent and unconscious. I would have the power to enthrall. Creatures of all sorts would be drawn to be and I, of course, would be none the wiser.
My power would be the ability to shape-shift. Come on, how cool would it be to look like whoever you wanted? And it wouldn’t be limited to humans – I’d be able to shape-shift into animals, too.

My Guardian power would be the ability to heal physical pain, because I’ve had rheumatoid arthritis since I was a kid and I know that there’s no relief more thrilling than the absence of pain like that, lol.

As a Guardian superpower I would like to be able to teleport myself. I would just need to think of a location and boom, I would be there. Would save lot of time and would work as a defensive power too!

Maybe I died in a pile of trash in my former life, so my power would that anything I touched would instantly be clean.
