I’m posting from New Zealand.

Random fact: While the country no longer has as many sheep as it once did, they still have us humans beat. The current ratio is around 10:1 in favor of the sheep.

Both are beautiful – and very different from each other.

It got me to thinking about what makes a great cover – something that works brilliantly in one market might not necessarily be a hit in another.

However, some things are universal I think. For me, a great cover has immediate visual impact and tells me something about the story.  What about you? What makes a cover really work for you? Any favorites?

p.s. What kind of Oddshots pal would I be if I didn’t help Meljean with her promo efforts? ;-)

One of the things I like is that I can get a full story within a shorter timeframe. It’s also a great way to discover new authors and/or series.
